Our commitment

Boyertown Music is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for public entities and their vendors.

What we've done

  • A visible “Skip to main content” link and a single, consistent main landmark on every page.
  • Full keyboard operability, including the interactive seat-selection map (arrow keys to move between seats, Enter or Space to choose one).
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators throughout.
  • Labels and instructions on form fields, with errors announced to assistive technology.
  • Text alternatives (alt text) for meaningful images.
  • Dialogs and drawers that trap focus while open, close with the Escape key, and return focus when dismissed.
  • Color combinations chosen to meet AA contrast, with a built-in check that warns administrators before a low-contrast theme is published.
  • Respect for the “reduce motion” system setting.

Known limitations

We are continually improving. A few areas rely on third-party components or have partial support:

  • Payment form.Card payment is handled by Stripe's hosted payment element; its accessibility is maintained by Stripe.
  • Address autocomplete. The optional address suggestion field uses Google's address component; a plain text address field is always available as a fallback.
  • Decorative imagery. Full-bleed background photos in the homepage banner are decorative; the meaningful information around them is provided as text.
  • Screen readers with SVG. The seat map is fully keyboard-operable; announcement detail can vary slightly between screen reader and browser combinations.
